Allison, Dorothy
I really enjoyed her reading. The ways she draws you into what she is reading was nice. I pictured the whole story as she was reading, it was like a visual in my mind. Her advice was also strong, by attacking yourself first you have left no room for anyone else to do so. I have read some of her work before and she is truly a good writer. I could have listened to her read the entire night, she puts so much into her reading that just makes you want more.
The conversation from Tuesday
I did not say anything in class because that is a conversation that I have heard so many times. I am a sociology minor, and I have all ready taken race and gender and race and ethnic. So the topic is one I have heard so many times. It is a issue that shall always be around no matter what we do. Racism to some people might not be the same as the next person. I have been around racism for so long that is does not bother me anymore. Living in the South you see it more than up North. That is only because down here we are not afraid to talk about it, unlike in the North they hide it like it is not real.

Appropriations of Culture
The story seemed real hearing him read it in class. I felt more connected with the character after hearing it read. This day in time I am not sure if I like the character or not. Though it does touch an issue that has been around for years. The dialogue in the story really works, it puts you in the story and let you really feel what was going on.
